EPT Making Its Way Back to Berlin

The European Poker Tour has seen it’s share of thrills and excitement through it’s many stops, and one place that has excited more recently is the EPT Berlin stop on the tour, with players from around the world coming to Berlin and the Spielbank Berlin (Casino Berlin) to test their mettle against some the games best and brightest stars, including a host of PokerStars pros and personalities. American Pro Kevin “ImALuckSak” MacPhee became the inaugural winner of the event in last year’s EPT Berlin, winning a cool €1 million for his efforts. This year, the event was won by Ben Wilinofsky, and he drug an impressive €825,000 for his victory.

PokerStars pros are out in force at those events, however, and players such as George Danzer, Sebastian Ruthenberg, and Fatima Moreira de Melo all found their way in the money at this years event. Don’t think that the Main Event is the only spectacle at this EPT stop however, as cash games and sit n gos run around the clock, and a wide variety of tournaments are offered along with the Main to whet the poker appetite, like bounty tournaments, a 32 player Heads Up tournament, PLO, 6-Max, and even a Women’s only tournament.

The debut of the EPT in Germany was heavily discussed on Deutsche Poker Sites and gave Germans the biggest tournament (945 players from a whopping 48 countries) and prize pool ( €3,686,400) in the history of German poker. Without a doubt, future EPT Berlin tournaments are sure to be record setters in their own right, and PokerStars will be there in full force to provide players one of the best tournament experiences for their tournament dollar today. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a true poker icon, follow Kevin MacPhee and Ben Wilnofsky’s footsteps and play (and hopefully win) EPT Berlin.
