PokerStars is home to an impressive stable of professional poker players, and some of those pros have found unique ways to branch into the game. Noah Boeken found a way to take his skills as a professional Magic: The Gathering player and forge them to turn himself into a world renowned poker professional. After meeting fellow Dutch professional poker player Marcel Luske and striking up a friendship, he began to hit the Casino and online circuit, becoming a feared player at the high stakes cash tables on PokerStars.
He found his first big win in the first season of the EPT, winning the 2005 Scandivian Open for $191,355. In 2007, he found renewed success in making two deep runs at the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam, finishing 2nd and 4th in two seperate events for a total of $242,707 in winnings. This perked up the ears of the PokerStars team, and the named him a TeamPro the same year. He took this sponsorship and used it to full advantage at the WSOP, cashing 6 times the next two years including a particularly deep run in the 2009 series, finishing 96th for $47,003.
This year at the WSOP, he finally reached his first final table at the biggest tournament series in the world, finishing 7th in the $2,500 Mixed Hold’em event for $40,284. At 30 years of age, Boeken already has $1.1 million dollars in tournament winnings, good for 7th on the all time list for Dutch players, and has plenty of time to catch his good friend Luske for tops on the list. You can find Boeken playing as “Exclusive” on PokerStars, and you can join him at the tables just by downloading and depositing on PokerStars, so get in the action today!
