Black Diamond Poker Open at Bovada Poker

Tournament players thinking about giving the recently launched Bovada Poker room a shot just got an easier decision.  Anyone serious about making money from tournament poker will want to take part in the upcoming Black Diamond Poker Open at Bovada Poker.

What’s so spectacular about the Black Diamond Poker Open?  Other rooms may have series with larger overall prize pools, but in terms of sheer value it’s tough to be the BDPO –  or, technically, the Bovada Poker Black Diamond Poker Open, or BPBDPO.  Sounds like an advertising agency, no?

The series is already technically underway, with satellites running now in the Bovada lobby.  To locate satellites –  there will be 2000 separate ones running during the course of the Black Diamond Poker Open –  just open the Bovada software and click on the Tournament lobby.  From there, give the special tab a click and you’ll be able to find all satellites and other tournaments related to the BDPO.

What exactly does the series consist of?  52 separate online poker real money tournament events, with buy ins ranging from a few bucks to a few hundred.  Various formats, although the bulk of the events are standard No Limit Holdem affairs.  $750,000 in total prize money across the series, much of which will probably be added by the room given the history of overlays at Bodog / Bovada.

The Black Diamond Poker Open culminates with an April 1st Main Event that guarantees $50k plus a $5k custom watch for the winner.  That’s not a bad payday for an event that will likely have hundreds, as opposed to thousands, of runners and only costs $425+25.

If you don’t want to fork over the entry fee, relax –  you can qualify for the Main Event of the Black Diamond Poker Open for as little as $1 with satellites that are running now on Bovada.
