Power Poker Player Base
Power Poker has between 7,000 and 10,000 players on their tables at peak hours. They are rapidly expanding and are getting larger by the day. Power Poker is not one of the biggest sites around, but they are plenty large that you will be able to find a game running with ease. For a new site Power Poker is quite large and it is certainly growing, a fantastic new site to play on.
Power Poker Cash Game Selection
Power Poker offers Texas Hold ‘Em, Omaha, and 7 Card Stud. You will be able to play Limit, No Limit, and Fixed Limit games on Power Poker. Omaha is available (Hi-Lo and regular) in No Limit and Pot Limit versions. 7 Card Stud has a tab listed but does not yet have games running. Based on the tab being listed it is safe to say that Power Poker is developing the 7 Card Stud aspect of their tables right now, look for it to be included shortly.
Power Poker Tournament Selection
The biggest tournament on Power Poker is their $250,000 Guarantee. This major tournament carries a buy in of $250. In addition to the $250,000 Guarantee are other large guarantee tournaments, such as the $50,000 and $100,000. These two tournaments run with buy ins of $100 and $150 respectively. Power Poker also runs satellites to some major live tourneys including the World Series of Poker and the Aussie Millions. Buy ins for tournaments on Power Poker start at just 10 cents and top off at $300. There are quite a few smaller guarantees that run on a daily basis at Power Poker such as their $10,000 Guarantee which has a modest $10 buy in.
Power Poker SNG (Sit and Go) Selection
Power Poker has 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 20, 25, and 30 man SNGs. Buy ins for these Sit and Go’s range from $1 to $1,000. As far as game selection goes on Power Poker, you will be able to choose from Texas Hold ‘Em and Omaha. This is not as large of a selection as most sites offer, but for the majority of people it is all that is needed. Power Poker has regular and turbo SNGs. Short stack and deep stack SNGs are offered on Power Poker, this is something that you won’t find on all sites. In addition to the regular SNGs for cash prizes on Power Poker are satellites to major tournaments on the site or even satellites to major live events.
Power Poker Competition
Power Poker’s competition is not all that tough. I wouldn’t say it is one of the absolute softest sites out there (that honor would go to PartyPoker), but relative to other US sites the players are rather weak. There aren’t too many regulars on Power Poker so you will not be running into the same players over and over. You will usually have at least a few poor players at any table you sit down at. Power Poker would be one of the best sites to play on for players looking to profit. Even if you are not at an advanced level you will be able to establish an edge over the other players.
Power Poker Software
Power Poker’s software is best described as a combination of Full Tilt and PokerStars. If you take the avatars away from Full Tilt’s tables and add a bit of graphic animation to PokerStars’ tables you will essentially have a Power Poker table. It has a little bit of a PartyPoker feel to it as well with the spotlight on the player whose turn it is to act. Overall a very easy to use software that allows for easy multi tabling and easy adaptation.
Power Poker Unique Features
Power Poker is lacking in the unique features department. You are not going to find too much out of the ordinary on Power Poker. This might be a problem for some people, but I actually enjoyed the “stick to the basics” mentality of the site. Nothing is going to aggravate new users of Power Poker as everything is pretty much straightforward.
Power Poker Non-Poker Games
Power Poker is planning on adding a casino. They currently do not have any games beyond poker available on the site, but this is due to change shortly.
Power Poker Player Programs
Power Poker rewards its players through Gold Cards. Gold Cards on Power Poker are dispensed randomly and can be exchanged for anything from tournament entries to cash. The Gold Card system is a bit complicated, but easy to understand once you get the hang of it. If you are dealt in a hand there is a chance that you will get a Gold Card at the completion of the hand. Power Poker determines the Gold Card prior to the hand (say it is the 5s), if you get dealt the 5s you will be awarded with the 5s Gold Card. It does not matter if you fold either, so long as you are dealt in the hand you will be eligible for the Gold Card. The higher the Gold Card the hard it is to obtain. If you get an ace you will likely be able to trade it in for a few thousand dollars in cash. The rewards for different Gold Cards vary from day to day.
Power Poker Deposits and Withdrawals
Deposit methods available on Power Poker include Visa, MasterCard, Visa Electron, UseMyWallet, and ewalletXpress. The minimum deposit on Power Poker is $25.00.
Withdrawals can be made via check, ewalletXpress, and UseMyWallet.
Power Poker Security
Power Poker may be a new poker site, but they have all of the security measures in place that you will find on any of the older sites. Your money is safe in the cashier and you can be assured that all game play is fair at the tables.
Power Poker Support
I have personally dealt with Power Poker support and can say with confidence that they will answer all of your questions in a timely manner. I had an issue at a table and the problem was corrected immediately, never had another issue before or after. This was when the site was brand new so I can only imagine that their support is even better now.
